F – Alan – Štirovača
Trail F - Alan – Mrkvište – Štirovača This trail extends eastward from the mounting lodge Alan, coincides 2 km in length with the trail E, and continues straight ahead to Mrkvište, where it connects with the paved serpentine road (ŽC 5126) which goes 3 km downhill to Štirovača. This trail provides a pleasant ride along one of the oldest preserved roads on Velebit, built back in 1860, which back then was used to transport wood from Štirovača to Jablanac. The trail offers magnificent vistas of grassy plateaus: Mirovo, Tudorevo, Bilenski, Šegotski and Dundović padež, with remains of former shepherd dwellings. When you reach the end, you will find yourself in a completely different setting of the Velebit mountain, the spacious Štirovača valley with a beautiful pine forest and winding crystal clear streams. Accept a well deserved reward for all the hard work and refresh yourself with cold water of Štirovački spring.
