Velebit House
Velebit House is a visitor and information centre for visitors to the Northern Velebit National Park. It is located in the Village of Krasno, one of Croatia’s largest mountain settlements. Its recognisable, modern and attractive content, makes it possible to present the natural and cultural values of the Park throughout the whole year. Here you can find out what to visit and to experience in the Park, Krasno and its surroundings, and buy tickets and souvenirs.

At the House of Velebit, you will learn more about the climate, species and habitats, cultural heritage, geology, and underground features of Northern Velebit. Special emphasis is placed on the deep caves as a unique feature of the Park. You will get acquainted with the geology and the process of cave formation, the history and techniques of their exploration, and gain insight into the specific animal life of the underground world. A special attraction is the experience of entering a cave via a special “lift.” Mysterious and inaccessible to most, the real underground world at the House of Velebit can be experienced by almost anyone.
You can tour the House of Velebit independently or with a professional guide from our educators. Guided tours last at least one hour and must be booked in advance.
